Terry Lanigan has over 27 years of experience counseling individuals, couples, and families dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, marital conflict, and family tensions.


She currently maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Grand Haven, Michigan.

Ms. Lanigan received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in the State of Michigan and is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. In addition to her extensive background in the provision of psychotherapy services, Ms. Lanigan has held adjunct faculty positions at the Boston College School of Social Work, Smith College School of Social Work and Simmons College School of Social Work.


She has been a field supervisor of clinical services at the Columbia School of Social Work and New York University School of Social Work.

Hand in Hand Through the End of Life

Ms. Lanigan is the author of Hand in Hand Through The End of Life, where she explores the lessons to be learned and the opportunities present as family members support their elders through their final years.


Ms. Lanigan is a contributing author to Continuing Medical Education Resource, a nationally recognized organization providing ongoing professional education to behavioral and mental health experts throughout the United States.
